It looks like the stunning Kia GT four-door coupe might make a market debut sooner, rather than later. Kia Australia communications manager, Kevin Hepworth told CarAdvice that a more evolved and market-ready GT has already been developed.
While that's great news, don't expect the GT to look like an exact copy of what you've seen previously. "It's still a four-door coupe, but it's not identical to the concept. Like all concept cars that look sensational, you lose a little to practicality when you've got to build a car that meets all the crash regulations around the world," Hepworth explained.
Hepworth said that while the GT is nearing the final steps for production, it hasn't been "signed off yet." While that doesn't sound encouraging, it's looking very likely that the GT will eventually see the light of day, as Kia boss, Peter Schreyer, has said previously that building the Kia GT would be a clever addition to the company's product range.

The 2011 concept had a 3.3 litre turbocharged V6 engine making 388 hp and 534 Nm of torque. The concept also featured rear-hinged doors that open outwards, similar to those on the Mazda RX-8.
Introduction of the two-door, rear-wheel-drive Kia GT4 Stinger concept, however, might be pushed back by a bit, as Hepworth said that it is "very far down the track." It's interesting to note that whether or not the GT4 Stinger gets made, depends on the feedback that the Korean carmaker gets from the press.
"They monitor what you guys [the press] write, they're watching the market," Hepworth said. "They have global press clippings and they measure the interest and constructive criticism of concepts they put forward," he said. So guys, while we wait for the Kia GT to come, what do you think of the Kia GT4 Stinger - make it or can it?
