Mercedes has teamed up with Pebble to create a smartwatch that communicates with its cars. Showcased at the ongoing 2014 Consumer Electronics Show, the watch can communicate with Mercedes' Digital DriveStyle app to allow drivers to easily view vehicle information such as fuel level, door-lock status and vehicle location on their wrists - even from outside the car.
Besides acting as a 'second screen' for your smartphone, the Pebble smartwatch alerts you to real-time hazards when you're in the car - like accidents, road construction or stalled vehicles up ahead - by vibrating. The three watch buttons can be customised to activate your favourite Digital DriveStyle features like reporting hazards, auto-routing, Siri activation, remote-controlling media, or quickly showing nearby traffic conditions.
