Happy 45th birthday, Michael Schumacher, and get well soon! We can't join the silent vigil organised by Ferrari clubs from France and Italy outside the Grenoble hospital where you're at, but our thoughts and prayers are with you and family.
For the uninitiated, the seven-time Formula 1 world champion and most successful racer in the sport's history is currently in a medically induced coma after a skiing accident in the French Alps. The German ex-Ferrari and Mercedes driver had been skiing off-piste when he fell and hit his head on a rock last Sunday. The helmet, which saved his life, cracked on impact.
It was reported that doctors confirmed on Tuesday that Schumi had shown signs of improvement, but was still "not out of danger". The good men ruled out giving a prognosis for his condition in the coming days and months. Schumacher remains in a stable but critical condition, his manager said.
