Jaguar's first crossover could finally be happening - the Coventry-based carmaker has released a solitary teaser photo of the C-X17 concept it's bringing to the Frankfurt show next week. We can see a crossover-like silhouette (then again, it could also be an estate of sorts), a roof spoiler and tail lamps not unlike those found on the F-Type, but little else.
Jaguar says the concept introduces a new modular aluminium architecture that will underpin future products. The C-X17 shows the diversity of vehicles that could be produced using this architecture. Reports say it'll be called the Premium Lightweight Architecture (PLA), and it'll also be the base for the upcoming Jaguar XS, a compact exec that'll pick up where the "a-Ford-able" X-Type left off to have a second go at the BMW 3 Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
Go to Jaguar's Facebook page on September 9 at 17.10 CET (11.10 am Malaysian time) to watch the wraps come off live.
