Infiniti is offering 'performance-driven' engineering graduates an opportunity to work in F1 via a new global talent search initiative. The 'Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy' will see two winning candidates complete a 12-month assignment with triple world championship-winning team Infiniti Red Bull Racing, based in Milton Keynes, UK.
The lucky duo will work alongside Infiniti engineers already based at the F1 team's factory. In addition, they will also spend time at Infiniti's nearby technical centre in Cranfield, where they will intensify their knowledge of future road car tech. The scholarship includes a salary, accommodation, and the use of a car.
Recruitment will open later this year. National selections across several global regions will begin in May 2014. Finalists will present their ideas to a panel of senior technical figures from Infiniti and RBR in July 2014 with the winners announced at the British GP. The placements will begin in September next year.
"The Infiniti Performance Engineering Academy is a unique opportunity for top engineering talents from around the world. They can experience the highest levels of performance and precision in both F1 and in road car engineering. We are looking for candidates who share our passion, and we open up an avenue for them to become an elite member of the Infiniti engineering team in the future," said Johan De Nysschen, president of Infiniti.
On another note, Nissan's luxury brand will be bringing the Q30 Concept to Frankfurt this month, previewing a future compact model that will take on the BMW 1-Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
