Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG buyers will be pleased to hear that the duo will gain the power hike that was recently introduced for the refreshed Mercedes-AMG A 45, which was updated alongside the facelifted W176 A-Class, and there won't be too long a wait for that.
According to Autocar, Mercedes-AMG boss Tobias Moers said the update won't have to wait until the cars get their respective facelifts. The M133 AMG 2.0 litre twin-scroll turbo four-pot's output has been hiked to 381 hp at 6,000 rpm and 475 Nm of torque at 2,250 to 5,000 rpm, up 21 hp and 25 Nm up from the pre-facelift A 45 AMG.
The increased output isn't the only thing finding its way on to the duo - the CLA 45 AMG and GLA 45 AMG will also feature the mechanical improvements that the A 45 facelift now sports. These include the revisions to the AMG Speedshift DCT seven-speed transmission, which gains shorter ratios in third to seventh gear as well as improved response and shift times.
The cars will also get the A 45's new mechanical front axle locking differential, which AMG claims significantly improves traction when driven hard.
