The 2015 Honda HR-V is breaking records in Malaysia already. Bookings for the new B-segment crossover have surpassed 7,000 units within the first month of its availability alone – claimed to be an all-time high for an SUV in Malaysia.
Of the bookings so far, 65% of it are for the range-topping RM118,800 Grade V, while the RM108,800 E and RM99,800 S models account for 20% and 15% respectively. That's expected for a new model, and besides, most of the fancy toys are reserved for the V anyway.
As the booking numbers have surpassed Honda Malaysia's own expectations, the waiting period for the HR-V has grown to four months. The company has announced that it will revise its production schedule to reduce the wait, but without rushing the process or affecting quality.
