Here's a nice scoop – reader Joshua Ling spotted this Mitsubishi Triton in Sarawak wearing the latest Pajero Sport's updated front face. It looks like the popular pickup truck is getting yet another facelift to keep it showroom fresh before the next-generation Triton arrives in the next year or two.

What is clear to see is that, for the very first time in the ladder-frame duo's history, the Triton will share the same front-end with the recently-facelifted Pajero Sport. Curiously though, this "new-face" Triton has yet to be launched in any other markets, so either it's making its world debut here, or it's a special Malaysia-only update. You can compare the new and old looks in the picture below.

Apart from the new bumper, grille and alloy wheels, the facelift also introduces projector headlamps to the Triton range. The rest of the car stays as it was before, though it looks like the wing mirror-mounted signal lamps and unique rear sports bar, previously exclusive to the Triton VGT, will filter down to standard models.

It is yet unknown if the new look will be applied throughout Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia's extensive Triton range, including the Triton Heavy Duty, Single Cab and LITE Turbo. But as the car has already made its way to a showroom in Sarawak, it appears it won't be long till we find out.
