2015 GMC Canyon-06

GMC revealed the 2015 GMC Canyon at the 2014 Detroit show, an all-new mid-size truck that gives the GM brand a three-truck line-up in America. GMC says that the Canyon will deliver class-leading capabilities with the brand's signature refinement - all in an efficiently sized, maneuverable package for customers who don't need a full-size truck. It will go on sale late 2014.

Based on a proven global architecture (Canyon is a rebodied American-market Chevy Colorado) and engineered for the unique demands and driving conditions of North American drivers, the new GMC is expected to deliver class-leading power - an estimated 193 hp from a 2.5 four-pot and an estimated 302 hp from an available 3.6 V6.

Also expected is the segment's best payload of at least 1,450 pounds (657 kg), the segment's best maximum trailering rating of at least 6,700 pounds (3,039 kg) and even greater capability with a powerful and efficient Duramax 2.8L turbodiesel engine coming in model year 2016.

In the tech department, OnStar 4G LTE connectivity with a built-in WiFi, forward collision alert, lane departure warning and a standard rear-vision camera will be available. RemoteLink Key Fob Services allows owners to lock/unlock their truck, flash the lights and honk the horn, and, on equipped models, even remotely start the engine using a smartphone app.
