The Lexus RC F will indeed be drawing 460 hp from a V8, as a leaked invitation to the carmaker's stand at the 2014 North American International Auto Show divulges. That's a 44 hp jump over its predecessor, the Lexus IS F.
The V8 in question is unlikely to be a carry-over-and-tune-up job though - reports suggest that it could be different from the IS F's, as Lexus had previously said that 5.0 litre lump won't be used in future models as it doesn't meet current global emissions regulations.
The Lexus IS F does 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds and hits the electronic buffers at 270 km/h. Suffice to say, the increased output should see the Lexus RC F better these performance figures - it might even manage 300 km/h.
You can expect the hot Lexus RC to take some styling and tech cues from the Lexus LFA supercar, including a speed-sensitive rear spoiler. There could also be a carbon-fibre bonnet, roof and boot lid. See spyshots, a video and another video, or learn more about the regular Lexus RC here.
