It's official - the production version of the BMW Concept Active Tourer will be called the BMW 225i Active Tourer, and here are the first photos revealing the car undisguised.
Our spy photographers captured this production 225i Active Tourer during an official photoshoot. As expected, the concept's body was pretty close to the production car, save for some toning down on some design elements. It will probably use a variation of the 125i's four cylinder turbocharged engine, but mounted transversely for a front wheel drive setup.

The 225i name though, is a little confusing. We expected BMW's first front wheel drive car to be called the 1-Series GT, but now it has a 2-Series badge. BMW says even numbers are for 'coupes' (save for the four-door GranCoupes) and the odd numbers are for regular cars, so does this mean Munich actually considers this B-Class fighter a coupe?
The longer 7-seater version that we've seen in spyshots accompanying this 5-seater model will be coming later. We wonder what BMW will call it, 2-Series Grand Active Tourer perhaps?
