The facelifted Panamera range is set to welcomes its new taiko, the Porsche Panamera Turbo S - the range-topper is set to make its world debut at the upcoming 2013 Tokyo Motor Show.
A 50 hp increase in power compared to the Panamera Turbo (570 hp now) has been achieved through two new turbochargers with larger compressors. In addition, injection pressure has been increased by 0.2 bar to 1.4 bar. Together, both of these measures also enable higher component loads, which are absorbed by pistons made from a new aluminium alloy and specially coated piston rings.
By preparing the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chambers more effectively, torque is also up by 50 Nm to 750 Nm between 2,250 and 5,000 rpm, with overboost raised to 800 Nm.
Despite all that, NEDC fuel consumption figures for the new model are the same as those of the Panamera Turbo at 10.2 litres per 100 km, 11% less than the old Turbo S. With the standard Sport Chrono package, 0-100 km/h is done in 3.8 seconds. Top speed is 310 km/h.
Looks wise, this Palladium Metallic hue is exclusive to the Turbo S. It rides on 20-inch 911 Turbo II wheels, and the four-way rear spoiler is another unique feature.
The Turbo S is also available in LWB Executive form with a 15 cm longer wheelbase. The LWB body, introduced with this facelift earlier this year at Auto Shanghai, was created with China in mind.
