The BMW M4 won't be alone when it lands in town. You've seen spyshots and a video of the upcoming Lexus RC F, the coupe-bodied version of the mighty IS F. The hot two-door compact exec is highly rumoured to hide a V8 (with as much as 460 hp, some sources suggest) under its long bonnet.

Here we see the car pulling out of a petrol station somewhere in Germany before gracefully sweeping down some country roads. The engine is relatively silent at these speeds, but then the video cuts to the Nurburgring, where the car is driven hard, and your ears will be treated to a very carnal V8-like roar from its quad tailpipes.

It appears to corner very flatly and stably indeed, and with minimal drama. Although camouflaged, the Lexus RC F doesn't escape showing us its aggressive-looking large air intakes, lower body extensions, bonnet scoop, massive side gills and pop-up rear spoiler.

The non-F Lexus RC is reportedly scheduled to debut in production form in Tokyo this November, while the RC F should follow in January at the Detroit show. The RC 350 will carry its four-door sister's 306 hp 3.5 litre V6, and the hybrid version should emulate the setup found on the IS 300h.
