Our European spy snappers at CarPix have certainly been hard at work - the heavily-cladded vehicle you see here is no mere mule - it's the full prototype of the 2015 Ford Mustang.
In a break from tradition, the sixth-gen pony, code-named S550, will likely have its trademark live rear axle replaced by independent rear suspension. Production could begin around mid-2014.
The familiar 305 hp 3.7 litre V6 and 420 hp 5.0 litre V8 should keep calm and carry on, while European buyers will have the option of a turbocharged 2.3 litre four-cylinder unit, likely to offer around 300 hp. Some reports indicate that this EcoBoost-derived four-pot could make its way to the US as well.
