Already teased by VGM, it will be officially revealed in early May, which is of course just around the corner. Few will be confusing the Jetta Limited Edition with the standard car, for it appears significantly sportier with the addition of a five-piece original Volkswagen Zubehör bodykit, which consists of a front under spoiler; side skirts; rear under spoiler and boot lip spoiler. Nice kit, but it wouldn't work without the LE's 17-inch "Silex" five twin-spoke alloys, which are wrapped with 225/45 Goodyear Assurance Triple Max tyres. It's a one-inch upsize from the regular Jetta's 16-inch rims with high profile 205/55 tyres. Ecotint window film completes the package, although we've also seen some ads touting Llumar tint. We understand that the LE will also come with a Blaupunkt Philadelphia 835 touchscreen head unit with navigation, which has yet to be fitted to this locked demo car. Word is that the current RM134,888 price will remain - which effectively means that all the above goodies are yours for "free" - with a cheaper "Club Edition" (with navi and tint, without bodykit and rims) joining the range. We'll see, but for now, check out the first live gallery of the Jetta Limited Edition below. But it's been quite a while since we've seen something quite as strange or as disturbing as the latest spot for the new 2016 Audi RS3. The video starts out innocuously enough, with the outgoing R8 V10 (a Competition model, no less) sitting in a sort of futuristic dystopian chamber. Then, robots disassemble the rear bumper and the weirdness begins – the entire rear section of the car starts to split open, the V10 emits its trademark piercing wail to simulate screaming, and what's that weird gooey brown stuff the robot squirts onto the engine? But by far the creepiest part of the whole video comes near the end, when the RS3 emerges from the "womb" covered in some kind of waxy red substance, before it gets cleaned up for its reveal. We really don't understand how the RS3 is "related" to the R8 – yes, the former is four-wheel drive like the latter, but it's front-engined, has a far more doldrum five-door hatch body style and comes with five cylinders instead of ten. Still, there's no denying that the RS3 has all the makings to be quite an exciting car, with the 2.5 litre TFSI turbo five-pot pushing out (hah!) 367 PS and 465 Nm of torque through a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission. Just keep the weirder, wilder ideas to yourself next time, okay, Audi? The cars, believed to have been imported illegally from Thailand over the course of fou" New post on Paul Tan's Automotive News Smuggled luxury cars confiscated by Kedah Customs by Gregory Sze The Kedah Customs Department have confiscated a total of 81 luxury vehicles, believed to have been smuggled into the nation, according to a New Straits Times report. The cars, believed to have been imported illegally from Thailand over the course of four months, are said to be worth a total of RM7.5 million with excise duty factored in. Said smuggled vehicles were seized at a number of locations around the state including Durian Burung, Bukit Kayu Hitam and Langkawi. The list of smuggled luxury cars include a Porsche Boxster S, Lexus RX 300, MINI Cooper, Nissan Fairlady (350Z) and an unspecified Maserati and Jaguar. A total of 15 suspects were arrested during the crackdown - one of them identified as a 50-year old government servant. "The suspects are believed to have smuggled in the vehicles from the neighbouring country and used fake registration number on them... they later sold the vehicles at cheaper price than the market price," said department director, Abdul Latif Abdul Kadir. The case now falls under Section 135 (1)(d) of the Customs Act 1967 - if convicted, the involved individual will be slapped with a fine of up to 10 times the seized item and/or a three-year prison sentence. In an unrelated incident, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) have seized a total of 153 vehicles, worth RM13 million, during an operation in Terengganu. A number of the smuggled cars originated from Singapore, whereby forged paperwork were provided. This allowed for "cloned" vehicles to be sold at much lower prices in the market. Traffic police have reminded that there will be no delay in the commencement of operations from then, and they will begin serving 1.59 million outstanding arrest warrants against traffic offenders who have yet to settle summonses from the date. To avoid any hassle, the public is urged to check their traffic summons and make payment before the operation starts, Bukit Aman traffic chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Fuad Abdul Latiff said. Motorists can check if they have outstanding summons through myeg.com.my, rilek.com.my, and at traffic police counters, post offices, Maybank ATMs, plus selected shopping malls and Road Transport Department (JPJ) branches. To make it easier for those who wish to settle their summonses, all traffic police stations nationwide will be extending their front counter operation hours until 10 pm from Monday to Friday beginning May 5. Previously, Fuad had said that while multiple warnings have already been given over the past two years, the remaining offenders have refused to settle their summonses. He added that Bukit Aman has worked with the Employees' Provident Fund and the National Registration Department to track down the addresses of these traffic offenders. "We have the full list of these offenders, which had been distributed to state traffic police chiefs for further action," he told reporters at an event today. He said that the all-out operation would be done by conducting roadblocks nationwide as well as with door-to-door 'visits' to arrest errant offenders, which will begin after the two weeks grace period from May 1 ends. Prepared by Audi UK, the 2015 Audi Q7 gets illustrated from the outside in with this five-minute long video. The second-generation seven seater leviathan from Ingolstadt is now on sale in Europe with prices beginning at €60,900 (RM239,849). As per the usual routine of most walk-around features, the video begins with a rundown of the new Q7's evolutionary aesthetic cues, from its bold hexagonal Singleframe front grille to its (optional) Matrix LED headlights, with 'double arrows' LED daytime running lights housed within. At the rear, an electronic tailgate is standard on all variants with dynamic 'sequential' side indicators on the taillights available on S Line models and above. While being 36 mm shorter than its predecessor, the 2015 Audi Q7 is also up to 325 kg lighter in base 3.0 TDI trim - a weight trim equivalent to offloading a grand piano, as stated in the video. Inside, the third row seats are now electronically-operated while up front, a completely redesigned dash layout gets trimmed in aluminium wherever possible. The latest Audi MMI infotainment platform now features a retractable 8.3-inch screen with controls handled by a larger MMI Touch interface. Elsewhere, a quad-zone climate control system is available on S Line models and above while rear passengers receive additional entertainment in the form of dual 10.1-inch (detachable) Android tablets. A Bang & Olufsen Advanced Sound System with 3D technology can be ordered as a cost option - said system is made up of 23 speakers, together with a re-engineered subwoofer and a 1,920 watt amplifier. Under the bonnet, the aforementioned based 3.0 TDI diesel variant pushes out 272 PS and 600 Nm of torque while the 3.0 TFSI petrol unit produces 333 PS and 440 Nm of torque. Two e-tron variants will be made available, a 3.0 TDI quattro and a 2.0 TFSI quattro model - the former destined for Europe while the latter, Asia. An eight-speed tiptronic automatic transmission is the sole option. From the small glimpses of the car's exterior, we can see the brand's signature claw-shaped headlights, large, intricately designed five-spoke wheels, broad haunches, triple-claw tail lights, a retractable rear spoiler and plenty of red detailing throughout. The more complete sketches show clear influences from the 2012 Onyx concept, albeit with a racier slant to it. As before, there's no indication as to where and when the unknown supercar will surface – only that it is "coming soon" – but the fact that there are no major motor shows in the near future, coupled to the possible clues scattered throughout the previously-released video below ("codes of GT," anyone?) hint that it could actually be Peugeot's Vision Gran Turismo concept for the Gran Turismo 6 video game. We've taken the trouble to get photos of the new pick-up truck on the showroom floor, and doesn't it look a treat. We've got two variants for you today - the top-spec VGT Adventure (red) and the VGT MT from a rung below (silver). Fully-imported (CBU) from Thailand, the new Triton will launch in May with a 2.5 litre VGT engine that develops 178 PS and 400 Nm from 2,000 to 3,500 rpm. This is an improved version of the current 178 PS/350 Nm DI-D motor, not the new 2.4 litre turbodiesel MIVEC VGT engine with 182 PS, 430 Nm of torque and 20% better efficiency that Thailand gets. The VGT Adventure gets a five-speed auto, HID projector headlamps with LED DRLs, 17-inch wheels, shift paddles, leather seats, auto dual-zone air-con and a 6.1-inch touch-screen with reverse camera. 2015 Mitsubishi Triton VGT Adventure (left) and VGT MT interiors, click to enlarge The five-speed-manual VGT MT does without Bluetooth, cruise control or a reverse camera. It also has auto single-zone air-con and a manual transfer case instead of the Easy Select 4WD rotary selector (2H, 4H, 4L) that the VGT Adventure and VGT AT gets. On the outside, the VGT MT makes do with reflector headlamps without DRLs, plainer-looking side steps and no window visors. Simpler 16-inch alloys, too. Apart from the two variants pictured above, there will also be VGT AT and two non-VGT workhorse variants: 4X4 MT and Quest 4X2 MT. The latter's 'Quest' name replaces the old 'Lite' moniker.
