Renault has confirmed that the successor to the Renault Espace will be making its world premiere on October 2, at the Paris motor show.
Previewed by the Initiale Paris concept (below), the fifth iteration of one of the earliest MPVs to hit the market will be the first Renault to sit on the new CFM1 modular platform (which already underpins Nissans X-Trail and Qashqai).
Spyshots of the new Espace (or Espace replacement, if you will) reveal that it now rides a little higher like an SUV and looks more like a crossover than an MPV, as Europe is reportedly shifting its tastes from MPVs/minivans to SUVs/crossovers.
The current fourth-gen Renault Espace has been around since 2002, and was even sold in Malaysia at one point for about RM290k.
Also, Dacia will be introducing rugged-looking Stepway variants of its Lodgy and Dokker models at the show, following the introduction of the Sandero Stepway two years ago.
