Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has announced a "Field Fix Campaign" (read: recall) for 2,083 Mitsubishi vehicles sold in Malaysia.
The campaign covers models ranging from the Airtrek, Colt, Lancer, Lancer Evolution, Grandis and Outlander that were manufactured before 14th March 2008. This initiative is necessary to undertake checks on light switches and to replace affected parts if necessary.
Due to the structure of the printed circuit board of lighting switches, cracks could occur and cause turn signal and headlamp to malfunction over time. Affected lights could blink, flicker or do not turn on or stay on. MMM will issue notification letters to affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the inspection and repair (if required) will be borne by Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia.
MMM kindly request valued customers to make an appointment at any of our Mitsubishi Motors authorized service centres for the inspection and/or replacement of the above. The inspection and repair process will take approximately an hour. This permanent fix is to ensure the safety value of affected Mitsubishi vehicles is not diminished.
