Peugeot has finally given the 3008 a rather-needed facelift - the 308-based crossover eschews its gaping mouth for the neater corporate face, joining the others in the family. This one's also Frankfurt-bound.

The facelifted Peugeot 3008 for global markets gets reworked head and tail lamps, plus extra chrome trim throughout and new-design alloys, which are available in 16- to 18-inch sizes. Changes are limited inside, but you'll find new upholstery choices and a flat-bottomed steering wheel with chromed inserts.

This is different from the Chinese-market Peugeot 3008 facelift, which has been on sale there for half a year already - that one has a different grille, headlamps, fog lamp housings and front apron. The pre-facelift model was imported into China; this one's built by the Dongfeng-PSA joint venture, and isn't sold anywhere else.

Back to the global-market facelift model - powerplants include a 115 hp 1.6 litre in e-HDi FAP and HDi FAP versions, a 2.0 litre HDi FAP in 150 hp and 163 hp states of tune, a 120 hp 1.6 litre VTi and a 1.6 litre THP in 155 hp and 163 hp states of tune.

The HYbrid4 variant sees a 2.0 litre HDi FAP (driving the front wheels) working together with a 37 hp electric motor (driving the rear wheels) to provide a combined output of 200 hp. This one's capable of returning an impressive 3.4 litres per 100 km.
